Who are the second-tier club with former Chiefs, Pirates and Sundowns players heavily involved?

Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Keagan Buchanan is the chairman of the team, which purchased the status of Sea Point Swifts.

They moved their home matches to Erica Park in Belhar and were promoted at the first time of asking, but when you look at who is involved in the team, that is no surprise.

Aside from Buchanan, they also had former SuperSport United and Mamelodi Sundowns defender Clayton Daniels as a player and part of the technical team last season.

Whether he continues on the pitch remains to be seen, but he brought a wealth of experience.

Former Orlando Pirates and Cape Town City fullback/winger Craig Martin was the captain of the side, while they also had ex-Polokwane City player Sthabiso Ngwenya and journeyman forward Ruzaigh Gamildien.

They have also since added former Lamontville Golden Arrows defender Brandon Theron, while they have signed highly-rated 20-year-old Tauric Gamildien, who was recently called up to the South Africa Under-23 side for the Olympic Games qualifiers.

The team was coached to promotion by the experienced Dylan Dean, though he has since parted ways with the club and a new coach has not yet been announced. Ex-Chippa United defender Roscoe Pietersen heads up their youth department.

Known as The Immortals, the club is clearly ambitious and looking to take the next step in their development, even if they are barely a year old in their current form.

“I think we put together a project. The team we put together, the structure, the former professionals, the coaching staff, backroom staff. We knew that from the beginning. We were not there just to be there. We wanted to compete. We had a plan,” Buchanan was quoted by Football Stage after they won the ABC Motsepe League national championships.

“We came here confident. We knew it was going to be difficult, but we stuck to what we did. It's been a long 10-11 months as a new club, but we firmly believed that if we do the right things and put in the right structures, then we can succeed.

“It was not easy. You have to have your own in town. You have to fight hard to get back.”

The second team promoted to the MFC for the coming campaign are North West University.

The league lost two stalwarts at the end of the 2025/26 season when Limpopo duo Baroka FC and Black Leopards were relegated.
