Liverpool and Andy Robertson confirm defenders exit at seasons end

The 32 year old has made 373 appearances since moving to Liverpool from Hull during the summer of 2017 and will depart as a true Liverpool icon according to an official statement on the clubs website confirming his exit.

The Scotland skipper has secured two Premier League crowns the Champions League the FA Cup and two League Cups alongside various other honours during his nine year spell at Anfield.

"Leaving a club like Liverpool is never straightforward it has formed a massive part of my life and my familys over the past nine years" Robertson remarked.

"Yet players progress others advance what endures is the club and naturally the supporters. My nine years here have been incredible.

"Football progresses teams evolve and I feel this is the moment for me to advance to my next chapter wherever it leads and whatever direction my career follows.

I will forever cherish the wonderful recollections from this club I have poured my heart and soul into it for nine years with few regrets.

"I have matured both as a person and individually. This club will eternally hold immense significance for me as will the fans. It has been an extraordinary ride."

Robertson who has seen limited action this term after Hungarys Milos Kerkez joined has made his revelation following reports that team stalwart Mo Salah is also set to depart come the campaigns close.

"This club is everything to me. The supporters are everything. Everyone linked to the club means the world to me" Robertson added.

"I still owe it to them to pour all my effort into this club right up to my final day something I have done throughout my nine years and take great pride in.

"That commitment remains unchanged so this is not the occasion for overwhelming sentiments or shedding tears on camera.

"My focus stays on wrapping up this season on a high note supporting the team and creating a few more positive instances for the fans.

"That is my goal and with any luck we achieve it perhaps nearer the seasons conclusion you will see me emotional on camera."
