Lens extend lead over PSG to four points atop Ligue 1
Lens claimed their seventh win in a row by defeating Toulouse 3-0 on Friday, opening up a four-point gap over Paris Saint-Germain at the summit of Ligue 1.
The team has occupied the top position since November 30 and will hold it for at least two more weeks, with the next round dedicated to the French Cup.
The contest was level for the initial 20 minutes until Toulouse forward Emersonn earned a red card for a dangerous foul on Odsonne Edouard.
Lens failed to make the most of their extra player until the second period began, when they relentlessly attacked the Toulouse net.
Wesley Said opened the scoring with a bending finish in the 57th minute, and captain Adrien Thomasson netted a second five minutes before the end.
Pierre Ganiou wrapped up the victory with a superb effort in the 90th minute.
Saturday sees fourth-placed Lille aiming to boost their challenge against hosts Rennes, while Liam Rosenior, viewed as a contender for Chelseas open managerial position, guides Strasbourg to Nice.
Marseille meet Nantes on Sunday, before the Paris derby concludes the fixtures.
