Ex-Liverpool Manager Jürgen Klopp Thinks Mohamed Salah Might Continue Playing Until 40

Mohamed Salah, who is 33 years old and considered one of the most outstanding players in the clubs history, disclosed this week his plan to exit Anfield at the seasons conclusion.

Brought to the team by Klopp from AS Roma in 2017, Salah played a key role in Liverpools successes including two Premier League crowns, the Champions League, the FIFA Club World Cup, the UEFA Super Cup, the FA Cup, two League Cups, and a Community Shield.

"He established brand new benchmarks for professional footballers regarding how diligently one can train, the extent of investment in recuperation, and all related aspects," the German coach explained to the BBC before a charity legends match in Liverpool on Saturday.

"He is now departing, yet I wouldnt be shocked if he goes on for six or seven more years."

"I am saddened by this, but he is without question an eternal legend, and I take great pride in having contributed to his journey."

Klopp, having departed Liverpool in 2024, noted that Salah and the team formed an ideal partnership.

"Mohamed and I shared ambitious goals, though we never imagined reaching such heights," he remarked.

"I firmly believe their association was entirely equitable. A remarkable talent with impressive statistics, and naturally, he received fair compensation," Klopp continued.

"Now he is free to join any club he chooses, while the team must seek and will surely discover new talents, which is perfectly fine."
