England Captain Kane Might Miss Wales Friendly

Harry Kane, England's national team captain, may not participate in Thursday's friendly against Wales after missing Wednesday's training session as a Bayern Munich player.

Despite sustaining a minor ankle concern during Bayern Munich's victory over Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday, Kane linked up with the England squad.

Following the Frankfurt match, Kane stated, "I am currently recovering from a minor impact. A few days should see me fit again, so the national team fixtures will not be affected. I will join the squad on Monday."

The 32-year-old, England's all-time leading goal scorer with 74 international goals, did not take part in Wednesday's session alongside Jarell Quansah, the Bayer Leverkusen defender who has yet to earn a senior cap.

The Football Association confirmed both players were "undertaking separate indoor training programmes" while the remaining 22 squad members trained at St George's Park.

Kane found the net in the Frankfurt match, bringing his total to 18 goals across only 10 appearances for Bayern this season.

Ollie Watkins, Marcus Rashford, Jarrod Bowen and Anthony Gordon are in line to step in for Kane should he be unavailable to face Wales.

Thomas Tuchel's squad will host Wales at a fully occupied Wembley Stadium before shifting focus to Tuesday's World Cup qualifier against Latvia.

England lead Group K by seven points over second-placed Albania as they aim to secure qualification for next year's World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

The Three Lions have secured victories in all five of their qualifying matches so far, with three fixtures still to play.
