Divkovic secures Brondby dramatic late equaliser against 10-man Nordsjaelland to sustain third place ambitions

FC Nordsjaelland nearly knocked Brondby IF out of contention for the bronze medals during their Friday evening encounter. They were on the verge of success following a goal by Ghanaian forward Prince Amoako in the 60th minute, despite having forward Alexander Lind dismissed just before half-time.

Yet Marko Divkovic levelled the score in the dying moments, allowing the hosts to cling to a faint hope of securing third position.

The first half featured limited excitement and few opportunities for either team, until drama unfolded around the 40-minute mark when Nordsjaelland forward Alexander Lind awkwardly fouled Luis Binks, resulting in a direct red card.

As anticipated, Brondby controlled the ball in the second period, but struggled to capitalise on their numerical superiority. Instead, Prince Amoako demonstrated his finishing prowess by breaking free from his defender outside the penalty area and bending the ball into the far corner, out of reach for Brondby goalkeeper Patrick Pentz.

Not long after, Pentz was tested once more as he denied a shot from Juho Lähteenmäki following Amoako hitting the woodwork. The away side seemed poised for an unexpected victory until FC Nordsjaelland goalkeeper Andreas Hansen erred in his challenge on Marko Divkovic's effort with only a minute left, enabling the home team to salvage a share of the points.
