Ben White and Harvey Barnes join England team as Eze and Quansah withdraw due to injuries

Englands national team will play against Uruguay and Japan in their last preparation matches before the upcoming World Cup hosted across the United States, Mexico, and Canada, while manager Thomas Tuchel works to finalise his choices for the competition.

Thomas Tuchel, the head coach of England, announced a squad of 35 players last week in preparation for the upcoming friendlies this month, an expanded group that indicates the German tactician is evaluating various possibilities.

Regrettably, Eberechi Eze and Jarell Quansah have sustained injuries just before the international period, opening spots for Ben White and Harvey Barnes to join the group.

Ben White is back with the England setup for the first time since 2022, and Harvey Barnes last featured for the senior side in October 2020.

The Football Associations official update stated: "Newcastle United's Harvey Barnes and Arsenal's Ben White have been added to the England squad.

"The pair replace Arsenal's Eberechi Eze and Bayer Leverkusen's Jarell Quansah, who are ruled out of the Three Lions' March internationals through injury. Barnes made his only appearance for the senior team in October 2020, while White has four caps to his name."

Although Scotland had shown interest in Harvey Barnes, it appears he has chosen to represent England as the World Cup approaches, a decision that should satisfy supporters and Tuchel during the concluding squad decisions.
