Monaco CEO admits Paul Pogba hasn't lived up to expectations at club

The former France international arrived following the end of his doping suspension but struggled to make an impact, managing only six appearances across all competitions.

Monaco CEO Thiago Scuro admitted the situation was complicated, stressing the club's respect for Pogba while acknowledging that expectations surrounding his arrival were not met.

"It is a complicated topic because we have a lot of respect for Paul, for the person he is. Since he arrived, he has been very positive," he told Get French Football News.

"It is also true that, last year, the project didn’t work well because when we started with him in the summer, the expectations were very different to what happened.

"I think that we have to be fair with him, follow his preparation every week, how he will progress physically and technically and then it will be the manager’s decision."

With Monaco aiming to reduce their wage bill, the midfielder's future remains uncertain. New manager Filipe Luís described Pogba as a "special player" and plans discussions with him in the coming days.
